Rain stop play

It chucked it down during the night and we woke up to a rainy morning hearing the rain pound down on the roof of Essie. It remained warm and dry inside only dashing out to get to the shower block. Listened to the weather forecast on the radio.....in german...no good to us! Over breakfast decided to abort any visit further afield in case we were going to be washed out. As it eased we went into Reit im Winkl and had a look round. Lots of tourists, bought a compass to work out where the sun rises and sets to help us on our next sites. A couple of momentoes and some more fresh bread/croissant. Loads of huge chalets everywhere in narrow roads and lots of other tourists to compete with. This area is now becoming a hiking/cycling area whilst skiing is all over with. A couple of Eddie the Eagle chutes to have a go on nearby....

After lunch headed north to visit some other towns. Not much going on but good drive through the mountains as the rain cleared and the sun began shining. We managed to get a photo of their elaborate Maypole for you to see - see pic. Into another McD's for yesterday's blog. Short and sweet today.
